US .30 Cal Light Machine Gun
The Browning M1919 series .30 caliber Light Machine Gun was the standard light machine gun used by the US military throughout most of the middle of the Twentieth Century and was the most common light machine gun used by the US Army in the Second World War, Korean War, and for much of the Vietnam War. A versatile weapon, the M1919 was frequently mounted on aircraft, ships, and vehicles; or as a 2 man crew served tripod mounted belt fed light machine gun. The M1919A4 variant was the most common used by the US military in the Second World War, but was not particularly loved as it weighed significantly more than its British or German peers (at 30 pounds not including tripod or ammunition) and had a low rate of fire.
